After a couple of stops in New York State (lastly at the Sugar
Hill Lb) back in August, this - which I believe to have been the
first hitchhiker - finally got moved on to Maryland (it had been
waiting for a ride farther west). I forgot to record who it was
that originated it; I hope that letterboxer will notice this post.
It's unique in more ways than having been first . . . go find it!

Hi Bob,
You are right that the Y2K is the first U.S. hitchhiker. Sarah Fearing was
its originator.
Best holiday wishes to you and St. George.

Wow! That is great that the Y2K Bug Hitch-hiker has
been found! Sarah Fearing is indeed the author of that
box and she has been wondering what has happened to
it! I will have to call her and let her know! Haven't
heard from her in a while now. Tom Cooch, have you
heard from Sarah Fearing lately?
